Live Events and Venues

The following describes some of the processes available through the TEXTDISPLAY aggregated SMS gateway service.

The basic premise of the system is built around simple, traditional text to screen concepts. These allow end users to send text messages to a 5 digit short code number, with their message prefixed with keyword of your choice (our example being BFS + your message.)

TEXT and PICTURES sent into the system can be displayed on any digital output, such as a large screen, a television or PC monitor and the only requirement is a computer with a stable internet connection into and out of the venue.

An administrator controls the throughput of Text and Picture messages using our simple and unique ‘drag and drop’ selection system. Approved items are placed in the pending inbox, before being displayed onto your screen, monitor or website. If required, Text and Picture messages can automatically be placed on the screen without the intervention of an administrator, The system has a built in ‘bad word filter’ should you require the system to be fully automatic.

Sending an image through your phone is known as sending an MMS message. The TEXTDISPLAY system can easily handle these kinds of messages, placing images from your viewer's mobile instantly onto your display screens at the event, on your website or even shared with kinds of display media .

A standard Text Picture or even video text message can all be broadcast onto the screen less than one minute of the message leaving the viewer's handset. (be careful here as we need to convert standard mobile .3gpp files into flash files for display - which can take up to 3 minutes, but is an automated system)

Revenue Models

All text messages can be set at a standard network rate or premium rate. (Standard rates start from 10p per text, with Premium Rates ranging from 25p to £6.50 per message.) There are no credit card transaction issues, senders are billed by their Mobile service provider. Access to online content (concerts and sporting events, can be billed in this way, send TEXT (cost £2.50) to receive online access code to view concert. During concert send message to artist/s display messages to friends, send pictures for display at LIVE event, (all chargeable actions)

Some cell phones will allow the viewer to enter their credit card details with some distribution systems.

Reduce Marketing Costs

Every text message received leaves behind their mobile number within TEXTDISPLAY, Mailing lists can be generated and used for future or on-going promotional and marketing campaigns. Providing direct and personal access to your target audience. All this is supported by detailed delivery reports, each and every communication sent is recorded and delivery is either confirmed or reported as undelivered, and returned. This enables sponsors and advertisers to keep their mailing lists up to date and current. Marking which numbers are no longer registered or active and also providing details of % delivered and/or % failed.

Competitions and Surveys

Audience participation, via Text message services, can generate and enhance audience demographics for advertisers and sponsors.

Database integration of the text relay service will allow targeting of sponsorship and advertising campaigns directly to demographically identified mobile phone customers.

A competition can be structured to charge for text entries to win a prize related to the event [i.e. Two tickets to the final!] The premium rate charged to enter the competition will generate direct revenue, as well as performing a payment method for other services (i.e. a subscription to view video of a sporting event.)

Text based surveys (For example “Which is your favourite football player, nominated for man of the match”)

The correct answers can then be entered into a prize draw to win tickets to the next event.

Text to the Big Screen

Audiences at a LIVE venue can send text messages and pictures to the big screens on display in the venue whilst the event is taking place, within seconds of sending their message to the screen, a moderator can publish the message to the big screen, for all the venue audience and the online audience to see. [ At past events, An estimated 45% of the venue audience posted a text message and enjoyed their 1 minute of fame (Tribfest July 2008)].

Generation of Website Traffic

All messages sent, received and moderated can also simultaneously appear on the client's and/or sponsor's own website. Audiences then visit the website to view their message online, increasing the unique visitor profile of the sponsor's page on your website and any and all affiliate websites linked into the event.
